NALERRA

PRIVACY NOTICE · UPDATED OCTOBER 16, 2026

Your choices help shape Nalerra.

Nalerra is in development. This notice explains the information we collect through the early-access waitlist, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be understood by the teenagers and parents who use the waitlist — not just by lawyers.

What we collect

When someone joins the waitlist, we collect:

  • an email address (yours, or a parent/guardian’s if they joined for you);
  • the subjects selected and the #1 subject;
  • whether the email was confirmed, and when;
  • how the signup was made — by the learner themself, or by a parent/guardian — and an age band (under 13, 13, or 14+). We never ask for a birthdate;
  • whether optional update/research emails were agreed to, and when that choice was made or withdrawn;
  • referral information, if someone joined through a referral link;
  • basic campaign attribution — source, medium, campaign, and creative identifiers — when they are present in the link used;
  • if the optional research questions are answered: learning goal, experience level, education stage, and pricing feedback;
  • anonymous first-party usage events (for example, which subjects get viewed) tied to a random browser identifier, so we can understand how the waitlist is used;
  • security and rate-limit counters that help us stop bots and abuse. These use hashed identifiers and short time windows, not profiles.

What we do not collect

This waitlist does not ask for your full legal name, home address, school name, exact geolocation, payment card details, government identifiers, or date of birth. Please do not send us information like that — we do not need it to run a waitlist.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate the waitlist; to send the confirmation email that completes a signup; to decide which simulations people want built first; to improve Nalerra and this site; to measure Nalerra’s own outreach campaigns; to invite people who opted in to early access and optional research; and to protect the service from abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party behavioral advertising.

Two kinds of email

Essential email is part of the signup itself: the confirmation message (and a resend if you ask for one) and rare notices strictly needed to operate your waitlist request. Essential email does not depend on marketing consent.

Optional email — launch announcements, product updates, and research invitations — is only sent if the updates checkbox was ticked at signup. Every optional email includes an unsubscribe link that works without logging in. Unsubscribing stops optional email; it does not delete your waitlist place. If you later join again and opt in, optional email can resume.

Age and young users

The waitlist is intended for people age 13 and older. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must join on your behalf using their own email. In Québec, a 13-year-old also needs a parent or guardian to join for them. We keep what we collect from young users to the small list above — no names, schools, birthdates, or locations.

The waitlist age gate is only for this waitlist. The learning product itself is still being built, and its accounts and youth privacy design will be created separately before the product opens to learners.

How long we keep it

Your waitlist record is kept while Nalerra is operating the waitlist and preparing early access. If you unsubscribe from optional email, your record stays on the waitlist — you simply stop receiving optional email — unless you ask us to delete the record.

You can ask us to delete your waitlist information at any time by emailing hello@nalerra.com, and we will process the request. Security rate-limit counters only live for their short counting window (an hour to a day) and are not kept as history. Before launch, we periodically review research and usage data and remove or anonymize what is no longer needed.

Service providers and cross-border processing

The waitlist runs on a small set of providers: Vercel (website hosting), Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore (waitlist database), and Resend (email delivery). These providers process waitlist information only to provide the services we use.

Depending on where you live, your information may be processed or stored outside your province, state, or country — including in the United States — and may be subject to the laws of those places. Public access to the waitlist database is closed: signups are written only by our server, reads are restricted to aggregate internal reporting, and internal reporting returns counts rather than individual records.

Security

No internet service can promise perfect security. We minimize what the waitlist collects, keep server credentials out of the browser and the public source code, rate-limit the public signup path, and review access to the systems above. If something goes wrong with your information, we will respond as described in our internal privacy operations process and contact affected people when required.

Your choices and how to reach us

You can choose not to answer the optional research questions, and you can unsubscribe from optional email at any time from any optional email we send. You — or a parent/guardian acting for a learner — can also email hello@nalerra.com to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of waitlist information associated with an email address, to withdraw from optional email, or to ask any privacy question. That address is our privacy contact. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights; the exact rights vary by jurisdiction.

Changes

Because Nalerra is still being built, this notice may change as the product and its data practices change. We will update the date at the top when we make material changes.
